Over the counter fat burners are fast becoming common among groups in almost every age range and sex. The growth in sales of these products is of a continued concern for the FDA and nutrition groups. One of the reasons is the use of Ephedrine within the pills. Ephedrine is dangerous because it creates a state of increased hear rate, which will lead to problems with the heart or can sometimes cause immediate heart failure.
A few things being done by concerned citizens to do in an effort to deter people from purchasing these pills include coaching for good nutrition habits and education about the reasons that these weight loss pills are harmful. A challenge these people face in curbing the consumption would have to be the fact that more and more people from different groups of society are beginning to consume weight loss pills and it is no longer only young females. Groups will continue efforts to end the consumption of these pills, but it may be too late to stop altogether.
