The rise in use of fat burners is cause of overwhelming concern for doctors as rates of side effects continue to rise.

Over the counter fat burners are fast becoming common practice among all age groups and equally among men and women. The growth in sales of these products is of a continued concern for family members of the people who abuse them as well as government health agency’s. The main reason for concern is the use of Ephedrine in the product. Ephedrine is dangerous because it can cause a spike in heart rate, which will lead to problems with the heart or can sometimes lead to instant death.

Some efforts being put forth to do in order to convince people from abusing these pills will include diet plans and coaching and education about the reasons that these weight loss pills are harmful. One of the challenges these people face in combating the use is that the fact that it is no longer only a specific group that uses the weight loss pills and it is no longer only young females. The government agency’s will have to focus efforts to stop the abuse of these pills, but only time will tell if it will work.
